  • Tamiflu.  "TAMIFLU (TAM-ih-flew) is a medicine to treat flu (infection caused by influenza virus). It belongs to a group of medicines called neuraminidase inhibitors. These medications attack the influenza virus and prevent it from spreading inside your body. TAMIFLU treats flu at its source by attacking the virus that causes the flu, rather than simply masking symptoms. Each TAMIFLU capsule (grey/light yellow) contains 75 mg of active drug and should be taken by mouth."

  • Bird Flu.  "This group will support each other in dealing with the worst nightmare of the 21st century. 50-100 million died of this flu in 1918, and this time the number of fatalities will be much higher. We are here to learn and survive this flu in the near future."
  • Flu Pandemic.  "Experts are warning that the Avian Bird H5N1 Flu may soon mutate into a human to human transmissible flu, causing an epidemic worse than the 1918 Spanish Flu.

If, or more likely when, this happens, the global economy will come crashing down. International borders will be slammed shut, and the President--who already has the authority to quarantine international passengers--will shut the borders. Next, State and even county borders will be shut as authorities try to stop the flu. Then schools, theatres and restaurants will be ordered closed. As the economy grinds to a halt, food and medicine will become in short supply.

Because H5N1 has been fatal to 90-100% of the poultry that have contracted it and 50% of the people who have contracted it, authorities have been unable to guess how many people an H5N1 mutation would kill. Previous pandemics throughout the world, like that in 1918-19, claimed 50 to 100 million lives worldwide, which is about two to three percent of those infected. But the coming flu pandemic will be worse because it will kill a far higher percentage of people.

We invite you to join so that you can tour our site--especially our site links and files, which are designed to provide a quick overview of the dangers facing our society. We believe that this site is the finest site for the discussion of the coming pandemic."  Yahoo! group.

News About Avian Flu

Organizations Associated With Avian Flu

  • Flu Wiki.  "The purpose of the Flu Wiki is to help local communities prepare for and perhaps cope with a possible influenza pandemic. This is a task previously ceded to local, state and national governmental public health agencies. Our goal is to be:
    • a reliable source of information, as neutral as possible, about important facts useful for a public health approach to pandemic influenza
    • a venue for anticipating the vast range of problems that may arise if a pandemic does occur
    • a venue for thinking about implementable solutions to foreseeable problems

Before the present avian flu pandemic, these tasks were formerly ceded to local, state, national and international public health agencies. But no one, in any health department or government agency, knows all the things needed to cope with an influenza pandemic. The world is filled with competent others who are likely to have credible and useful information about some aspect of each of these tasks. By pooling and sharing our knowledge, we hope to advance both preparation for and the ability to cope with events as they unfold.

Flu Wiki is not meant to be a substitute for planning, preparation and implementation by civil authorities, but instead is a parallel effort that complements, supports and extends those efforts. And while there are a small group of editors who will continue to administer and maintain the Wiki, it is the users of Flu Wiki who will shape its utility and relevance based on the contributions they make. We hope you will find the instructions sufficient to get started. You’ll soon be learning on your own."
